Roadtrip 2018 Fall: Vancouver - Yakima - Bend - Carson City - Lone Pine - Palm Desert - Sedona - Palm Desert - Paso Robles - Calistoga - Brookings - Yachats - Cannon Beach - Vancouver

Day 24 - Broken Arrow | Twin Buttes | Hog Heaven | Hog Wash

Halley's Comet mysteriously appears above the Broken Arrow Vortex. We think someone is monkeying with space-time again.

Out of the parking lot and straight up until morning.

Up and up until we reach the saddle between the Twin Buttes.

A petrified alligator guards the top of the canyon.

The unrelenting desert life and death.

Colour of grass.

Mid afternoon - Hog Heaven.

Ellie tests the trail's reinforced bank corners. A nod at safety for the biking crowd. Just a nod.

A view back to the neighborhood we were in last year.

Ella has claimed this canyon - all hogs are on notice.

What goes up must come down.

The descent from Hog Heaven features many ledges.

We encounter more science experiments. This appears to be sentient moss. It appears to be planning a cyberattack. We can't tell who.

Russ navigates the switchback section - as we descend from the Heavens above.

Ellie sizes up the Lambeau Leap.

From the run out along Hog Wash we spot the most enormous adobe style dwelling lurking in the landscape. It is green - stealthily trying to blend in. It really doesn't. Size does matter.

Once again, we race the alpenglow to the parking lot.
